Occasionally, if new initiatives or circumstances require additional funds that were not allocated in the divisional budget, a request to obtain these funds can be made to the Dean. This form offers the avenue to seek additional funding or to make other budget changes.
Before the School can allocate additional funds or make any budget adjustments, the requestor must explain in detail the basis for the amount, the purpose, and how the requested funds may benefit their division and/or the School by fulfilling one or more of the SOP's strategic initiatives.
In addition, the requestor must satisfactorily show that other funding alternatives have been investigated, and that availability of divisional funds, start-up funds, or trust funds is looked into. Also, the requestor should also assess whether a funding increase can be financed through various reductions (i.e., in positions or operational expenses, etc) or trade-offs.
