What is CPD?
CPD is the acronym for Continuing Professional Development, a new model for professional development that expands upon traditional continuing education and, in 2007, will become a requirement for preceptors of PharmD students.

North Carolina is one of five states participating in a pilot study to evaluate Continuing Professional Development as a new model to promote professional competence. A two-hour self-study CE program is now available on CD ROM and provides an introduction to CPD. An opportunity to participate in the pilot project will be offered to individuals who complete this training. You will also find information about the five-hour live certificate program workshops to be held this fall in Charlotte, Chapel Hill, and Greenville.
