Welcome to the Fall 2006 issue of Preceptor Today, an electronic newsletter created for the UNC School of Pharmacy preceptor community.

As a preceptor, you are the professional link between the students and the practical experience portion of the PharmD curriculum. You provide each student with the hands-on training they need to succeed as a future practicing pharmacist. The mission of Preceptor Today is to inform you about what other preceptors are doing, give you timely information about upcoming events and continuing education opportunities, and provide articles, news, and resources that relate to your role as a preceptor.

Preceptor Today will be published twice a year, once every semester. In each issue you will find precepting pearls, an event calendar, recent news, an AHEC highlight with preceptor and student profiles, and a feature story.
